"Mugshot Music" was the latest record release from veteran duo Showbiz & A.G.. Culminating out of the Bronx, New York, Show & AG made their debut with a classic album, released in 1992 by the name of "Runaway Slave" which had numerous hit tracks such as "Party Groove", "Soul Clap" and "Catchin Wreck". They then dropped the hit record "Goodfellas" in 1995 which had several classics including one, Im sure alot of people are familiar with, from the movie "8 Mile" was DJ Premiers remix of "Next Level" along with "Add On", "You Know Now" and "You Want It". Next was the release of an album I personally am very fond of and that is the 1998 release of "Full Scale" which is filled with non-stop action from start to finish. Tracks that stand out to me most are "Spit", "Hidden Crates" and "Hold Mines".
"Mugshot Music" is an album Im very impressed with, the first 8 tracks have me wondering if this came out a week ago or in the late 90's. You can tell Showbiz is back to his early creative direction with slow, head-nodding rhythms matched with sample selections filled with Jazz and Blues. AG also is bringing his usual high-caliber descriptive story telling lyrics on such tracks like "Michelle", "Beautiful Lies" (above) and "Every Time I Touch The Mic" which features O.C., and Frank V. All in all, great record and I highly recommend it to any head!
