Busta Rhymes is one of my top 3 favorite M.C.'s. From his stage presence and live performance energy to his catalog of countless classics, find out how Busta was given his name, to his early days with Leaders of The New School and affiliation with A Tribe Called Quest. Google Music released Life & Rhymes: The Story of Busta Rhymes documenting how Busta is world renowned, and highly respected by a wide-spread audience as well as artists and record labels.. Known for his intricate wording abilities to his clever yet spontaneous out-of-the-box topic themes, Busta Rhymes is a living legend due for an album set for an August 19th release date entitled "Year of The Dragon".

A Tribe Called Quest, consists of Q-Tip, Phife Dawg, Jarobi, DJ Ali Shaheed Muhammed and the un-official 4th member: Consequence. Beats, Rhymes & Life The Travels of A Tribe Called Quest (produced and directed by Michael Rapaport) goes through the early stages from the formation of Tribe to their "masterpiece" of a first album entitled "Peoples Instinctive Travels and the Paths of Rhymes" to the unfortunate dismemberment of the group in the late 2000s, but also leaves us guessing as to whether there will be one more album, as states on their original contract with Jive.

Love, Props & and the T Dot is a film based on reputable Canadian Hip Hop artists and their legacy. Starting with artists like Michie Mee, Maestro Fresh Wes to Dream Warriors (who had Gangstarr open FOR THEM as they opened for Digable Planets) and Tom Green with his group Organized Rhyme to more recent artists such as Saukrates, K-os, Kardinal Offishal and Classified....oops I how could I forget Drake...  Anyways great film! and its great to see a highly respected and followed station like CBC, dedicate and recognize the great Hip Hop music Toronto and Canada for that matter has created.

J Dilla is one of the most prestigious, well respected legends out of the Motor City, Detroit. Fellow Slum Village member and Stones Throw affiliate, J Dilla has produced for artists such as A Tribe Called Quest, De la Soul, Busta Rhymes, Common, Mos Def and many others. The passing of J Dilla was a tremendous loss to the hip hop community and music in general.

The Art of 16 Bars is a documentary based around M.C-ing. From learning how to write, to being on tour most of the year to even how to hold a mic, The Art of 16 Bars gives insight and is very meaningful, interviews from Raekwon, Ghostface Killah, Common, Kanye West and narrated by none other than Method Man...You know its from back in the day when Busta Rhymes still has his dreads.

We lost such an incredible MC with the passing of Notorious B.I,G. One can only wonder what the music industry would be like today if legends like Biggie, 2 Pac, Big L, and Guru  (to name a few) were still with us today. However all of their legacies will always be remembered, honoured and symbolized for what great music they brought to the culture.

Alright, so after alot of thought and debate, I decided this site needs something, so Ive added a Video Vault, containing documentaries on Hip Hop related topics aswell as biographies on various artists and groups both MC's and DJ's.

My debut video goes to the Rock The Bells documentary which was filmed in 2004, follows President Chang Weisberg and associates of Guerilla Union on their journey to put on a concert of a lifetime, from security breaches, to 10 000+ rabid Hip Hop fans packing a venue beyond capacity, to the struggles of the late-great Ol Dirty Bastard even showing up, a great watch for anyone who has ever attended or  heard of the highly acclaimed annual Rock The Bells Festival. Also includes performance footage by Sage Francis, Eyedea & Abilities, Jurassic 5, Supernatural, Redman, Dilated Peoples and more!
